Aggregate Supplies In Sussex
Aggregate Supplies
At HGS Southern, we supply bulk aggregates (or single tonne bags) to construction and landscaping projects across the Sussex area and beyond, including Brighton, Hove, Portslade, Worthing, Lancing, Hassocks, Haywards Heath and more. Operating out of our premises in Shoreham we have been providing a variety of aggregates to domestic, commercial and industrial projects in our local area for the last decade.
We supply all the standard industry specifications and gradings of primary aggregates available including MOT Type 1, Marine Sand, Topsoil and Ballast. Our grab trucks can transport up to 17 tonnes of bulk aggregate in one trip and make the delivery and removal of aggregates efficient and safe.
If you request that one of our trucks leave a public highway in order to complete the delivery, you are responsible for ensuring that there is suitable access for a heavy vehicle. HGS Southern cannot be held liable for damages to property as a result of insufficient or unsuitable access.
Aggregates are some of the most mined materials in the world, utilising recycled aggregates where appropriate reduces costs and helps to make the construction industry more sustainable
If you require the services of a trusted, reliable aggregate supplier, contact HGS Southern today for further information.

Best-Selling Aggregates
Aggregates
As a dedicated bulk aggregate supplier, HGS Southern can source and deliver a variety of construction aggregates across the Sussex area.
There are two main types of bulk aggregate available. Primary Aggregates are naturally occurring mineral deposits, extracted and used in construction, this includes substances such as limestone and gravel.
Recycled Aggregates refers to materials recycled from construction, demolition or industrial projects. This would be materials such as china clay waste and blast furnace slag.
As part of our aggregate service we also carry out the collection of materials like subsoil, clean concrete and hardcore from domestic, commercial and industrial sites and reuse and recycle them where possible.
The following are our most popular aggregates we supply. If you do not see the materials you require listed, please contact us and we will see if we can source them.

FAQs
In general, one of our 25kg bags of gravel will easily cover an area 0.25m (presuming a depth of 50mm). If you are unsure how much you will need, get in touch and one of our team can help you to calculate your requirements.
Assuming a standard depth of 50mm, a metric tonne of gravel will cover approximately 14 square meters.
If you are only laying the gravel to a depth of 35mm (the standard for pedestrian pathways) then a metric tonne of gravel would cover up to 20 meters.
It is important to get the right amount of aggregate delivered the first time as additional deliveries can push up the costs of an otherwise well-budgeted construction project.
Our team are always happy to help you with these calculations if you are unsure, so please get in touch.
Over 75% of our deliveries are completed within 24 hours of being ordered, with many being delivered even quicker.
